In a recent revelation that has fans buzzing with excitement, renowned director Rohit Shetty referred to Deepika Padukone and Shilpa Shetty Kundra as the ‘Jai-Veeru’ of his cop universe as the ladies are set to redefine women cop portrayals onscreen.
At a recent event Rohit Shetty was asked an intriguing question: who makes a better cop, Deepika Padukone or Shilpa Shetty? Without missing a beat, the filmmaker responded with a twinkle in his eye, “It’s like asking who was better in Sholay, Jai or Veeru. You can’t choose between Jai and Veeru. That’s how it is for me with these ladies. Shilpa and Deepika are the Jai and Veeru for me.” One is going to be seen in Indian Police Force and the other in Singham Again.
Rohit Shetty, known for his hero-centric cop dramas, made a surprising casting choice by roping in Shilpa Shetty for a role initially designed for a hero. In a candid revelation, he shared, “This character was earlier for a hero. But then, last moment, we called her when she was shooting for Sukhee in Chandigarh. Then she was doing India’s Got Talent and she shuttled between all and made it happen. I knew she would be able to do it. She even broke her leg during an action scene.”
The trailer takes viewers on a nail-biting ride through various cityscapes, each frame heightening the suspense with a ticking bomb clock that ultimately culminates in explosive blasts. Amidst this looming danger, the cop drama unfolds, showcasing a thrilling chase led by our courageous protagonists – Sidharth Malhotra, Vivek Oberoi, and Shilpa Shetty Kundra. Together, they confront the masterminds behind the bomb blasts, bravely navigating the chaos to safeguard the city from imminent threats, embodying a profound sense of patriotism.
