One of the most versatile and senior actors in the industry, Pankaj Tripathi’s journey into Bollywood is nothing less than a movie itself. After having made fleeting appearances in many films back in time, Tripathi rose to prominence with his appearance in Anurag Kashyap’s 2012 hit film ‘Gangs of Wasseypur‘, and things changed drastically for him in the future.

Pankaj Tripathi is presently gearing up for the release of his upcoming film ‘Main Atal Hoon’, based on the life of former late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

At a time when the actor has a lot of things on his plate, he has expressed the need to have a more focused approach and scale back on his work commitments.

‘I have realised I am overeating’: Pankaj Tripathi

In an interaction with The Indian Express, Pankaj Tripathi while sharing his decision to cut down on his work added that he has realised that he was overeating.

“I have realised I was overeating. Itna acting kar nahi karna chahiye. There is a limitation in terms of how you think or perform. I can’t change my physicality. Instead of doing 10 projects at a time, it is better I do only 3. That way my creative process and mind will get some rest. If I get that, I will be able to work better,” he said.

Citing an example of how he was cautioned by director Amar Kaushik, Tripathi opened up on how he went for the shoot of Stree 2, just a day after working on Main Atal Hoon.

“I finished Main Atal Hoon. The next day I was on the sets of Stree 2. However, on the first day of my shoot, Amar Kaushik (director) came to me and whispered in my years ‘Atal Ji lag rahe hai’. I told him what I do, I do now. I had just finished the film in Delhi last night. So he gave me a day off and asked me to watch Stree and chill.”

Reflecting on the same, the actor continued that he realised that things were not going well, especially shifting from one set to another in one night.

“It was overlapping. I need a gap of 30 days. Ten days to wash out what I was doing, ten days of complete rest and be with family, and the last ten days to prep for the next role. This is now a must for me,” he added.
